I the writer.
I the father.
I the son.
Eye the poet.
Eye of the I.
I Robert, lay down my sword and pick up my plume...
I have always enjoyed the nuances of the written and spoken word and how a phrase or sentence, that if crafted well, can evoke and paint a vivid picture where all of the reader or listeners senses may be aroused.
I have spent a lifetime in marketing and sales where I have been able to utilize my love and joy of the English language to help construct compelling and emotional images within my potential clients minds before ever seeing the product. It has been a very rewarding career, but it has never fully challenged nor fulfilled my creative writing penchant.
So as I enter this illuminated chapter of life I am embarking on a this new journey dedicated to my enjoyment of painting with words while conveying emotions and feelings to my readers in a manner that leaves them satiated, yet still yearning for more…
I draw inspiration for my poetic expressions from my life with the people and situations I have found myself in. Some are raw with emotions of pain and loss, while others are songs of joy extolling the virtues of hope held high for the future. I offer a special thanks to Keita for your words of encouragement that took me from theory to practice.
I hope everyone finds pleasure, enjoyment, or inspiration in my writings, musings, and poetry. Perhaps it will help to ignite the inner writer, singer, or performer contained within you as well. As we congregate together on this vast dance floor of life.
My birth name is Robert Rondo Williams, and I write primarily as Rondo
I would love to share a story outlining this vast depth and breadth from which my writing style has been crafted based on some cosmic event or a struggle of epic proportions that I persevered through to find my inner voice. Nope, I simply draw upon my curiosity of human nature, the emotions we experience daily, the complexities of the natural world, the vastness of our universe, with the simplicity of a child as they wander in and out and through it on my daily rounds.
I have spend the vast majority of my life in Oklahoma City, where I have raised two beautiful and equally talented daughters, which have been the inspiration for me to stay grounded. I took a 10 year sabbatical in my 20's where I was able to live in Dallas, TX and Marina del Ray, CA which gave me a life perspective I would have never obtained remaining in Oklahoma. My travels both near and far have allowed me to draw upon a lifetime of an ever widening gaze into the human experience.
For as long as i can remember back as a child and throughout my adulthood my mother Jean drilled this simple mantra into my head. It has been my guiding light and what drives and dictates how i approach life and any obstacles or opportunities it presents me.
Thank you Mom.
